Great book that brings the inner workings of the mind into the light. By consciously understanding the patterns of thought, conscious or not, we are able to identify times when we might otherwise be led astray. We can make better decisions be understanding our own cognitive biases.
What I learned:
- Emotions can be seen as a sort of tagging system that allow us to quickly assess situations we’ve come across before.
- Logic and reason can be used to analyze novel situations.
- Suppression of logic and reason can be helpful when doing familiar things.
